DRENKROM has always existed close to underground culture \u2014 the places where fashion, performance, and community naturally meet. One of those spaces is the drag stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, Shiva S\u2019Lake<\/strong>, member of the Budapest-based drag collective Dragvolution<\/strong>, wore a dress she made herself, with DRENKROM prints during a performance, bringing the piece to life in the way it was always meant to exist: bold, unapologetic, and on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We first connected with the Dragvolution crew during our Make Hungary Gay Again campaign<\/strong>, where fashion and activism came together in support of queer visibility. Seeing DRENKROM pieces continue their journey through performance and drag culture feels like a natural extension of that collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Dragvolution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Dragvolution collective<\/strong> was founded in Budapest on October 15, 2021. The current members of the group are Shiva S\u2019Lake, Myra Pixel, and Sorien<\/strong>, who regularly perform drag shows and appear at community events across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collective organizes monthly drag performances at the G\u00f3lya community space<\/strong>, where their shows typically attract audiences of 200\u2013300 people<\/strong>. Their performances focus on creating entertaining, creative, and diverse shows<\/strong>, always aiming to surprise their audience with something new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dragvolution frequently invites guest performers<\/strong>, including both amateur and professional drag artists, while also creating opportunities for new performers to debut on stage. The collective also organizes themed events<\/strong>, built around unique concepts that add new dimensions to the drag experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an active participant in Budapest\u2019s queer cultural scene, Dragvolution has previously collaborated with Budapest Pride<\/strong>, as well as festivals such as Kolor\u00e1d\u00f3<\/strong> and Sziget<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each member brings years of stage experience to the collective: Sorien<\/strong> began performing drag nearly 12 years ago before returning to the stage after a short break, Shiva<\/strong> has been a drag queen for 6 years, and Myra<\/strong> began her drag journey in the same year Dragvolution was founded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fashion as Performance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For DRENKROM, clothing has never been just clothing. Pieces are meant to move, to perform, and to exist in spaces where identity, humor, sexuality, and politics intersect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing the vulva and penis print dress worn by Shiva on stage reminds us that garments can become part of a story \u2014 one that continues far beyond the studio where they were made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
